ApexVision Blue Tinted Mirror Glass Set - Toyota ZN8 GR86 / Subaru ZD8 BRZ 2022-2025

The GR86 and BRZ are precision tools. The factory mirrors are functional, but they don't do anything about the one thing that actually degrades situational awareness at night: the glare from the car behind you. ApexVision addresses that with glass that's engineered to manage it.

Each mirror in this set is nano-coated using a sol-gel process, where particles are chemically bonded at under 100nm directly to the glass surface. This isn't a tint film or a vacuum-deposited layer sitting on top of the glass. It's a molecular bond with 7H surface hardness, nearly as hard as diamond, and resistant to scratches, erosion, and chemical degradation from rain and cleaning agents. Conventional vacuum-coated blue mirrors fail at this because the blue layer can't bond firmly to any dust or imperfection on the surface, creating pinholes that spread over time. That doesn't happen here.

The blue tint reflects approximately 60% of blue light and attenuates the intensity of yellow and red wavelengths. The practical effect: headlights from behind look noticeably less intense. The image stays sharp and clear. Switching lanes at night, the glare that typically makes you look away before checking the mirror is gone. The wide-angle optics add to this, with the passenger side glass providing 1.4x the visible area of the factory mirror and the driver side flat glass increasing that to 5.5x.

The water-repellent treatment is integrated during the manufacturing process, not applied as an afterthought. In rain, water sheets off rather than beading and distorting the reflection. The anti-fog coating keeps the mirror surface clear in cold or humid conditions. When the water-repellent effect diminishes over time, a simple rinse and wipe restores it.

Installation Notes

1. Carefully remove the factory mirror glass from the housing using a trim removal tool
2. Disconnect the factory BSM connector if equipped
3. Connect the ApexVision mirror glass BSM connector where applicable
4. Press the replacement glass firmly into the factory housing clips until seated
