Mishimoto has identified a common failure point in the transmission cooling system of your 2012-2023 Mopar: the thermal bypass valve. This component acts as a thermostat, restricting fluid flow to the external transmission cooler based on temperature. Unfortunately, many vehicle owners have found these factory units are prone to failure, often sticking in the closed position resulting in an overheating transmission. This unit is constructed from durable CNC-machined billet aluminum, featuring a heat sink design that provides improved heat dissipation and unique styling. The included thermostat opens at the stock temperature of 160F (71C) but can be customized to suit your needs with any available Mishimoto thermostat. The Mishimoto thermal bypass kit also includes a bypass that can replace the thermostat, allowing constant fluid flow to the transmission cooler.
